When my brother, Benjamin Berg of Berg Hospitality Group, purchased Carmelos’ Ristorante Italiano last December, he immediately called and asked me to be the executive chef and launch all-new menus.
With extensive training in Italian cuisine and a resident of NYC for most of my life, I was ready for the challenge and the move to Houston. We are a good team because of our different strengths – his business-oriented mindset and my creative, culinary background. Our goal is to make Carmelo’s the best Italian restaurant in the city not only for its food, but also for its ambiance.
