The top five destinations in the country for millennials are in. And according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s most recent American Community Survey, Houston is one of them.
The survey reported that Houston welcomed a net 15,000 young adults per year during the five-year period between 2012 and 2017, which the survey analyzed. Houston joins two other Texas cities – Dallas and Austin – in the survey’s top five destinations. Denver and Seattle also made the list.
What is bringing millennials to Houston? One factor is the relatively low cost of living, which has made home ownership a possibility.
