Buffalo Bayou Partnership commissioned pioneering artist Carlos Cruz-Diez to create a site-specific work for the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern, a 1926 underground city reservoir that BBP restored, repurposed and revealed in 2016.
This projection of continuously moving chromatic modules on the Cistern’s 221 columns, walls and cubes floating in a shallow pool of water invites visitors to become an essential component of the artwork.
View the historic Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern like never before, as color becomes more than a visual object to see but a dazzling space to be experienced. On view Wednesdays-Sundays. Purchase tickets here.
