Reducing single-use plastics in schools

by The 100 Companies

More than 152,000 plastic bottles have been saved from becoming trash, thanks to a recently completed Gulf of Mexico Alliance Gulf Star project funded by Hess.

The project placed 28 water bottle refill stations in schools across south Louisiana and helped 14,000 students reduce their use of single-use plastics while learning about the effects of marine debris on the environment. The Gulf of Mexico Alliance, which is a partnership of the five Gulf states, helps support projects like this that improve coastal resiliency and environmental health across the Gulf.
