‘Absolute Equality’ set to expand ahead of Juneteenth

by The 100 Companies

Houston-based artist Reginald Adams is preparing to expand his public art installation “Absolute Equality” into five new cities. In 2021, Adams was first commissioned to create the original 5,000-square-foot mural in Galveston, the birthplace of Juneteenth. The mural would go on to become a vital symbol of Juneteenth, particularly in the lead-up to President Biden’s signing of the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act, making June 19 a federal holiday.

Since 2021, Adams has created more Absolute Equality installations in seven cities, including Houston, in addition to this five-city expansion. The new murals’ reveal dates will occur the week of Juneteenth.
