In 2004, Houston got its first Christmas Eve snow in history, after an arctic front blasted through southeast Texas and brought freezing temperatures with it.
Lows plunged into the mid-20s that evening, mingling with a slight bit of precipitation in the air to bring on the flurries. Christmas Day saw highs in the mid-40s, and the snow was gone, but many Houstonians were lucky enough to snap some photos.
While Houston received little more than a dusting on cars and rooftops, some coastal counties reported up to 12 inches – by far the highest ever recorded, and truly a Christmas wonder.
