The dog days of summer are upon us, and keeping your pets cool while making sure they get daily exercise can be tricky. Here are a few tips I urge dog owners to keep in mind to avoid the risk of heat exhaustion.
Be sure to take early morning or late evening walks, avoid the hottest times of day (and hot concrete that could burn your furry friend’s paws), bring a collapsible water bowl on your walk and when you return, provide your dog with a nice, cool surface to lay on, like a towel soaked in cold water.
