In a city known for its big heart, one woman has single-handedly raised millions in the war against hunger. Houston Restaurant Weeks founder and chair Cleverley Stone established the fundraiser with one goal in mind – to help erase hunger and fill the pantry at the Houston Food Bank.
In 2003, with no staff, she reached out to restaurants to join her in her effort. Today, Houston Restaurant Weeks has raised more than $12.5 million for the Houston Food Bank and is the single largest donation made annually. Cleverley is testament that one person can make a difference. She did.
