biggest party in history

Where were you Labor Day weekend, 1989? If you were in Houston, chances are you or someone you know were among the 120,000 who attended “The Biggest Party in History” at the Astrodome.

Miller Lite spent months touting the event, with an entertainment lineup featuring The Who, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Natalie Cole. For those not wanting to brave concert crowds, there was pro wrestling and beach volleyball. Temps reached a record-setting 115 degrees on the pavement.

Word spread quickly, and several Texas towns hosted other parties simultaneously, with 450,000 in total attendance. Proceeds went to the Texas Special Olympics.
