Our state’s barbecue is indeed world-famous, but you don’t have to travel to the hill country to try the state’s best brisket. CorkScrew BBQ and Tejas Chocolate Craftory – both within a 45-minute drive from downtown Houston – were listed in the top ten of Texas Monthly’s 50 Best Barbecue Joints, a bible for smoked meat connoisseurs. Another top ten member, Truth Barbeque, is opening inside the loop this fall.
