Social entrepreneurs across Texas are getting their chance in the spotlight thanks to BBVA Momentum, a program launched by BBVA Compass in 2011, which is designed to help social entrepreneurs scale up and expand their reach. This year, BBVA awarded cash prizes to three members of its inaugural US BBVA Momentum class.

Chad Houser of Dallas-based Cafe Momentum, a restaurant training platform for juvenile offenders, won the $50,000 top prize. Margo Baines of Houston-based Chicks With Class received $25,000 for second place, while Andy Lovley of Dallas-based Education Opens Doors won $5,000 for third.
