Diabetics can take the anxiety out of holiday meals with these tips

For most Americans the upcoming holiday season has an emphasis on special family meals, which can make it hard for diabetics to feel like they can celebrate while carefully maintaining their health.

The American Diabetes Association offers advice for managing diabetes during the holidays, which include working with a nutritionist or your doctor to adjust to changes in mealtimes, staying physically active in between meals (for example go for a family walk), being selective with holiday foods and planning your snacks.
