“You can’t get there from here.” That was pretty much the answer if you wanted to get from one side of Mason Park to the other. The 104-acre park was bisected by Brays Bayou.
With the opening of the 485-foot Mason Park Bike and Pedestrian Bridge last fall, cyclists, walkers and runners can cross on the Brays Bayou Trail and access both sides of the park, which features a pool, tennis courts, running trails, community center and sports fields.
In addition to being functional, the $5.7-million suspension bridge is winning praise for its beautiful contemporary design.
