National Fried Chicken Day is observed each year on July 6. Scottish immigrants introduced their tradition of deep-frying chicken in fat to the American South, and it soon became a staple.
Over time, spices and seasonings were added, so I am pulling out the stops with our July 6 family-style dinner by offering three styles of this American favorite – Thai Fried Chicken, Nashville Hot Chicken, Mustard Jalapeño Battered Chicken along with five sides, a selection of rosé and champagne. Gotta have jazz, so Lucille’s is adding live jazz performed by musicians from Jazz Education’s Summer Workshop.
