Since 1982, the Houston Food Bank has helped feed those experiencing food insecurity throughout southeast Texas, with the nonprofit providing food and basic needs to over 1 million people across 18 Texas counties.
To keep up with rising demand, the Houston Food Bank is hard at work developing a second facility. The new facility will double the food bank’s distribution to over 300 million pounds per year by 2035.
By 2028, it will provide curbside pickup to 400 families per day and delivery to 200 families per day. The new distribution facility is expected to be completed by the fall of 2025.
