Galveston Bay Foundation talks trash: Preserving coastlines

by

This February, the Galveston Bay Foundation teamed up with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, hosting a volunteer-led crab trap removal event. Over 100 derelict crab traps were removed from the area, alongside the rescue of a native diamondback terrapin turtle.

There are still plenty of opportunities to help with preservation efforts this spring, including Trash Bash, where volunteers collect thousands of pounds of trash along the Armand Bayou waterway and banks. Additionally, the annual Marsh Mania aims to restore Galveston Bay by planting new marsh grasses along the shoreline.
