Years back I hopped into my buddy’s gorgeous 2010 Lexus SC 430 convertible which, thanks to Lexus paint, materials and craftsmanship, still looked like a brand-new car. But there was something in its center console that instantly betrayed its age.
“Is that … a cassette player?”
Sure enough, the 2010 SC 430 was the final production car on Earth to feature a tape player. Some higher up in Lexus must really like their analog audio, because in 2025 there are just four cars left with a factory CD player: the Lexus IS, the Lexus RC and a pair of Subarus.
