The Dunhuang Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving the Dunhuang Buddhist cave sites in China, is bringing internationally renowned theater and opera director Peter Sellars to Houston for an exclusive engagement on December 7. Sellars will discuss the significant ways that Dunhuang has made an impression on his creative process – especially his Vimalakīrti Sutra Project, based on a first-century allegorical text of Buddhist teachings.
“An Evening with Peter Sellars” will take place at The Brown Foundation Performing Arts Theater at the Asia Society Texas Center, beginning at 4pm. The event is free and open to the public.
