How to navigate Cedar Fever season

What can we expect during Cedar Fever season?

The extreme drought of 2022 may have lightened the mountain cedar pollen levels, although La Niña winters often result in some of the heaviest pollen load days and symptoms.

Dr. John Villacis, an allergist and immunologist with Austin Diagnostic Clinic, recently told KXAN that while allergy severity can be affected by weather, symptoms will vary by an individual’s degree of sensitivity.

“I call it the four dwarves of allergy: itchy, runny, drippy, sneezy… It’s dependent on the weather, but it also [has] to do with how much time do you spend outside.”
