‘New Monuments for New Cities’ hits Houston

by

Houston’s own Buffalo Bayou Park has been selected as the location for an international traveling art exhibition.

The joint initiative with The High Line Network, a coalition of North American industrial reuse projects, features posters from 25 North American artists responding to the evolving nature of monuments with suggestions for traditional monuments, revised historical statues and newly imagined methods of public commemoration.

Because it is a traveling art exhibit, the display and overall organization of these outdoor public showings will be specific to each site. The “New Monuments for New Cities” installation is on display in Houston through April 30.
