Wine from the Texas Hill Country made with integrity

by

Tucked away on a farm road near Startzville is a European-style winery owned by Lewis Dickson and California winemaker Tony Coturri.

La Cruz de Comal is as distinctive as its owners, and the wine produced use only estate-grown grapes made in a natural style – nothing added or removed. Production is limited and each wine carries an individual personality along with an anecdote from Dickson.

Recently, at a wine tasting, he regaled us with tales on how he developed his estate. Then he poured “Shango,” a yummy aperitif infused with botanicals, poured over ice and garnished with orange peel.
