How Houston hosted JFK on his final night

by The 100 Companies

While it’s another city in Texas that’s known for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, did you know he spent his final night in Houston?

On Nov. 21, 1963, Kennedy stopped in town as part of a multi-day trip swing through the Lone Star State. The President and First Lady made a stop at a League of United Latin American Citizens’ dinner at the Rice Hotel before speaking at a dinner honoring Congressman Albert Thomas at the Sam Houston Coliseum.

The Kennedys ended the night by flying to Fort Worth. What happened the next day changed American history forever.
