Houston: A hub for esports

Esports has taken the gaming world by storm. Some experts have predicted that Houston could become the second-biggest hub for esports, behind Los Angeles.

Those predictions looked accurate in May, when over 100 student gamers descended on the George R. Brown Convention Center for the Collegiate Esports Championship. To add to the hype, Houston has multiple esports teams, including Clutch Gaming and the Houston Outlaws.

One real estate investor recently agreed to purchase the latter club – for a whopping $40 million. The Outlaws team also plans to increase its brand presence, further enhancing Houston’s reputation as an esports city.
