Who can pass up an opportunity to see dragons fly? You’ll see plenty of them at the Houston Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, May 5, at Allen’s Landing. Colorful watercraft decorated like dragons in the traditional Chinese fashion that each hold 20 paddlers will be competing against each other in several races on Buffalo Bayou.
There is no admission charge, and attendees can enjoy live music and cultural performances from groups in Houston in between races that start every 15-20 minutes.
The event is hosted by the Texas Drag Boat Association, which is looking for volunteers for the event.
